Demonstrating his true sportsman spirit, he has chosen to not only associate with the university cricket championship, but has also chosen to speak about the importance of why the youth in our country needs to be encouraged to pursue a sport of their choice.

The Bollywood superstar says that sports should definitely not be limited to cricket. "I'm passionate about sports; be it cricket, hockey, football or badminton. So investing in a cricket team or my association with university cricket championship is a way for me to promote sports as a profitable career option for youngsters in the country today."

However, he clarifies that not all sports have a commercial consideration for him. "I'm passionate about a lot of things and do not necessarily look at them from a business angle. The basic aim here is to create a platform for youth in sports in India."

Badshah of Bollywood, Shah Rukh Khan has advised upcoming actors not to play a catching game with him as it would only lead them copying him.

The 47-year-old actor, when asked about increasing number of youngsters coming into the industry, said that new actors are doing a fine job but they should never try to catch him, the Gulf News reported.

Khan, who has worked for 22 years in about 72 films, said that he is on a completely different track from where these youngsters are wonderfully running on and he doesn't know if at any stage he will have to shift his gear to run further away from them.

The ' Kuch Kuch Hota Hai' star further added that it would be extremely small of him to be competing with newcomers, considering the work that he had done so far.

Khan also believes that whatever work he does, he does the best and no youngster should try to catch up with him as they would be taking century-old Indian cinema forward with their talent, which he didn't imagine he could do.

The actor who has taken time off from Rohit Shetty's Chennai Express, has reportedly been looking at several new projects, including Farhan Akhtar's Don 3

What's in the air at Mannat? From the sounds of it, Don 3 and may be Rohit Shetty's next, which Shah Rukh has reportedly taken a shine to.

TOI has learnt that SRK, who is on a short break from Chennai Express right now, has had several meetings with Farhan Akhtar and Ritesh Sidhwani, to firm up the fine print for the third installment of the slick and commercially successful franchise.

Meanwhile, in a recent interview, SRK also lavished praises on Rohit Shetty, saying how much he has enjoyed working with him forChennai Express. "We are looking at two more scripts," he said, indicating that he may work with the filmmaker soon again.

So where does that put the other keenly awaited SRK-starrer? According to sources, SRK has been taking his time over Happy New Year, to be directed by Farah Khan and produced by SRK's Red Chillies.

"SRK was supposed to help Farah finalise the casting for her film. It was expected that Farah will announce the name of her heroine - there has been quite a bit of speculation on who that is - at the beginning of the year. But no one, except Abhishek Bachchan and SRK, have been finalised for the four-hero project yet," said a source.

In fact, the script for Happy New Year has been locked, and songs are also about to be recorded, but with the casting yet to be finalised there is enough and more room for speculation.

There have been reports that Farah may be tweaking the role of the female protagonist Mohini, who hails from a Bhandup chawl, to accommodate a fresh face from the South. But the filmmaker pooh-poohed all the reports, and insisted that she is not willing to compromise on her script.

"I need someone who can match up to the four men in the film. Someone who is not too young, since my hero is mature. A girl who can emote, looks good and can dance well. There is no way I will make any changes to this character," she insisted.

As for the delay in finalising the casting, she said, "I am waiting for Shah Rukh to free himself from Chennai Express," said Farah to TOI. "We have not had the time to discuss the project in a while, but we will very soon," she assured us.

One doesn't have to be a die-hard Shah Rukh Khan fan to know how as a young man from Delhi he came to rule Bollywood without a 'godfather' in the industry.

From the teleserial Fauji where he played a young army man, to his last project Jab Tak Hai Jaan, SRK has come a long way. His energy, hard work, wit, charisma and strong self-belief make him what he is – King Khan. In an interview with Muscat Daily, SRK speaks about his journey and his February 13 show in Muscat.

Are you looking forward for your show in Muscat?

I have been to Muscat before. However, this time I will be there for doing a show, which will be a big one. I have performed in Gulf countries earlier and the love I have received from the region has been incredible. Entertaining Indians who are faraway from home is always a pleasure. I hope to give my best and be able to entertain the people of Oman. The shooting of a film depends on the script. If the story demands it, we will shoot in Oman.

Oman is know for its natural beauty. Are there any plans to shoot a film in Oman?

There are One of my upcoming movies will be shot in the region. When I was young and staring my career, like every other young man, I was always looking for big production houses and big directors. But now, I try to focus more on content, because it is the soul of a movie. Some small-budget but interesting movies that are lined up for me in the coming few years.

What are the three most important things in your life?

I put my family on top of everything. I am blessed with two beautiful children and a lovely wife. I have got a lot in this life, and never ever in my wildest dreams did I think that I will receive so many things.

The second thing is acting. I am very passionate about my work, and I always get a kick whenever I am facing the camera, be it for a film, a commercial or for television. I never ever feel that I am going for work because I love what I do.

The last thing is ideas. I have a lot of ideas and now that my children have a grown up, I can focus on these ideas which will help enrich our society and country.

With so many youngsters coming into the industry, do you feel threatened?

I drive a car that has its own gears and travels its own route. I do not compete with anyone. I am an actor and I want to excel as an artiste. I try to do films that have different contents, ranging from romance, anti-hero, superhero and patriotic films. I try to excel as an actor with different roles to which I try to do justice. The range has been wide, from Raju Ban Gaya Gentleman, Ra.One and Jab Tak Hai Jaan. I believe that when the economy of a country does well, it is shown in its movies. Suddenly, we hear about the popularity of Korean movies.

What has been the role and contribution of Indian films across the globe?

Similar is the case for India. We are doing well economically, hence our films are going global as well. Films have also helped spread India's different cultural aspects, like the Indian festival Karwa Chauth which has been shown in films.
