Stars often come with the added quirks, and Shah Rukh Khan is no
exception. Much as he would like the world to think otherwise, the
actor is a strong believer in numerology and the power of numbers. So
much so, he insists that all things around him - at least those that
have a number attached - stick to a combination of the numbers 555 and
40. Apparently, he always had a fascination for 555 but 40 is a recent
addition to his list of favourites.

If sources close to Shah Rukh are to be believed, the last five digits
of three of his personal mobile numbers are a mix of 555 and 40. His
wife Gauri and all senior officials working with him have either or
both these numerals as part of their mobile numbers. Even his closest
colleague Karuna Badwal and 80 staff members have them in their
official mobile numbers. His car bears the number plate 555 and his
personal email id too has a combination of these digits.

In recent months, Shah Rukh has been getting increasingly finicky
about the numbers' game and doesn't like to be associated with the
number three or its multiples.

So is he a self-styled numerologist? "Shah Rukh is not only in touch
with a reputed numerologist but also burns the midnight oil studying
the science," said a source close to the actor, adding, "This is such
a well-kept secret that only Shah Rukh can answer who is his
numerologist."

Kerala is all set to ring in Vishu (Malayalam New Year) with none other than Bollywood Badshah Shah Rukh Khan.

The superstar landed at the Nedumbassery airport on the outskirts of Kochi on Saturday. He will be shooting in Munnar for Rohit Shetty's Chennai Express in the coming days.

"The actor, who landed in a chartered flight by around 7.30 am, halted in Kochi for a while before travelling to the picturesque hill station by road. He reached Munnar at 11.30 am and went straight to a resort," said a source and further added that SRK will be in Munnar for two more days as part of the shoot.

"The superstar's presence during the festival season in the state will be yet another reason to celebrate for all his fans in Kerala. However, the shooting location has not been disclosed to anyone. As soon as the news of SRK's Munnar visit was out, the roads leading to the hill station were jam-packed, with people waiting for a glimpse of their favourite star," says the source.

Chennai Express, produced by the actor's wife Gauri Khan, features Deepika Padukone opposite him.

Shah Rukh: \'Chennai Express\' is a nice change for me

Vancouver: Superstar Shah Rukh Khan picks films instinctively, but he is especially happy with Rohit Shetty's 'Chennai Express' as he believes it is a comedy, action and entertainment-packed project 'different' from the intense and serious films he has done in the recent past.

"I do films which I like at a given point of time and as and when I get the opportunity. So when Rohit narrated a couple of films to me two years back, one was the remake of 'Angoor' and other was 'Chennai Express'. I like both of them. But Rohit felt he would like to do the latter one first as it is a bigger film and has fantastic comedy, action and amazing songs," Shah Rukh told IANS in an interview on the sidelines of the maiden edition of the Times Of India Film Awards (TOIFA) here.

The film, produced by the actor's wife Gauri Khan under their production banner Red Chillies Entertainment, features Deepika Padukone opposite King Khan. Shah Rukh is, of course, happy with the way the movie is shaping up, revealing that he injured his right shoulder while shooting for the film.

"It's awkward for me to speak of film that I produce, but I just have to say that Rohit has done me great favour while making a film like this for me. It's fun and I am enjoying it. Yes, I end up doing very intense films like 'Jab Tak Hai Jaan' , 'Chak De! India' and 'My Name Is Khan', and so, it ('Chennai Express') is a nice change for me," he said.

The Bollywood 'baadhsah' also hopes to do more such films in the near future.

"I am enjoying it this way. May be I would continue doing films like 'Chennai Express' in future," he added.

Looking dapper in a black suit, the actor will take to the stage to perform for hundreds of fans at the final day of TOIFA, which has brought a barrage of Hindi movie stars here.

He was in a relaxed mood, and with an excited child-like demeanour, he talked about awards and their significance in his life even after over two decades of being in the industry, and winning lots of them.

"I like awards and I appreciate them. I feel most of the awards that we have in India, are for years of work that we have done, rather than just one show, and above all that, it is nice to see the (film) community together (at such events). We get five seven opportunities a year where everyone get together, so it's a time to celebrate," he said.

Even though the escalating number of film awards worries him, he admits, "I like them".

"The more the merrier. I get most of them," he quipped in his inimitable style.

At the same time, he says he feels proud to see the love of Bollywood fans whenever he travels abroad.

"I normally don't go outside, I only come for functions and it is very nice to feel that people love you. More than screaming and shouting , I like the fact that people of all ages, all stages and everywhere in the world appreciate what Indian film is doing," Shah Rukh said.

Meanwhile, being the co-owner of Indian Premier League (IPL) franchise Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR), he is busy with the cricket extrvaganza, apart from having his hands full with acting commitments and production assignments. But he is managing it all pretty well.

One lesson, he says, he has learnt of late is to talk about his new projects only at the right time.

"We are making 'Chennai Express' and then there is another film called 'A for Apple, B for Billi, C for Cutta' (ABC). Two others are in the pipleline, but I would like to keep it a secret till the right time.

"People are just talking about work so much earlier than it is initiated. I don't like it anymore. I like to talk about things when the film is ready, and only then would I like to take an opinion about what is good and what is bad," he said.

It was a perfect fanboy moment for 21-year-old Harshu (aka Boss) from Kolkata. The differently abled young man, a huge fan of Shah Rukh Khan and his IPL team, got an opportunity to meet his star in person on Tuesday afternoon.

And thanks to his up, close and personal moment, Boss even managed to get the chance to meet SRK's entire team and even cheer for them.

Boss' delighted mother Rajani Goenka says, "Initially we were not allowed inside the hotel where the team and Shah Rukh were staying. I was directed towards the star's managers. They facilitated the meeting between my son and SRK."

An intimate conversation between the young man and his idol followed and SRK apparently even invited Boss to the Eden Garden grounds to watch SRK's team play.

Goenka adds, "It was a dream come true for my son and I am extremely happy that SRK was so kind and sweet to him. We never felt that we were meeting him for the first time."

Now, that's some team spirit!

Speculations be damned. When it comes to Shah Rukh Khan, Gauri is still the boss. And she made it clear in no uncertain terms, when she showed interest in SRK's Chennai Express. Not only did she ask to be shown the rough cut of the Rohit Shetty directorial, she also wanted to see the rough cuts of the first promos. And she is well within her rights to do so - both as the co-producer of the film and as SRK's wife.

A source close to the developments told Mumbai Mirror: "Gauri has a great knowledge of filmmaking, and gives her inputs for marketing a film effectively.

In fact, she had identified Amrita Rao for Main Hoon Na and told Shah Rukh to audition her."

Recently Gauri asked Rohit, now that the unit had more than 40 days of shooting done, if the 'footage had been aligned.' Her wish was the unit's command and the footage was dumped on the Mumbai server from Wai, where the film has been shot extensively. Gauri was shown the rough cuts at the Red Chillies office, and we hear Mrs Khan has liked what she has seen so far.

"She liked Deepika's look in the film, and had some very specific comments about Shah Rukh as well," says the source, adding, "She said he looked colourful, vibrant, and was most amused with his lungi-clad look."

There is buzz about SRK's role in Chennai Express, and Gauri has been curious to see for herself what Rohit has done to give the star and her husband the muchneeded shot in his arm.
