When it's anything to do with King Khan, it has to go viral. So what if it's years after his film's release, hai na?
Shahrukh Khan has impressed audiences time and again, be it as a villain, a lover boy or a hockey coach. Today, we are talking about Shahrukh Khan as a Hockey coach from Chak De! India. Didn't he look hot? Well, he always does. Anyways, coming to the point, remember one of his famous dialogues from the film? It goes like this, "Mujhe states ke naam na sunai dete hai na dikhai dete hai… sirf ek mulk ka naam sunai deta hai I-N-D-I-A." And his dialogue delivery was oh-so-heart-winning! So why are we talking about SRK's popular dialogue from Chak De! India out of the blue, you ask? Actually, it's you who made us talk about it. A little blue birdie tells us that SRK's dialogue from Chak De! India has become quite a favourite slogan among voters for Lok Sabha Elections 2014. Lots of voters after getting inked have posted this slogan…

Well, Shahrukh Khan's dialogue is certainly worth being a slogan. But we hope it doesn't just stay that. All those who actually posted this slogan on their social networking profiles mean it. After all, for a nation like ours unity in diversity is the only way to be successful, right? Meanwhile, SRK has been a responsible citizen and has used his finger for the right purpose. He has casted his vote.

Want to share screen space with Shahrukh Khan in Happy New Year? All you need to do is audition online, and if you are talented and lucky, expect a call.

If you wish to share the same frame as Shahrukh Khan, a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity awaits you thanks to daily deals website Groupon India.

Groupon India has joined hands with SRK's Red Chillies Entertainment to give fans a chance to feature with the superstar in his upcoming film "Happy New Year".

The unique initiative has been designed keeping in mind the Bollywood frenzy and a desire among millions to act with the best of Bollywood stars and to give a chance to aspirants to showcase their talent on the silver screen.

"We gave a long thought to this whole idea and spoke to a lot of budding actors and movie moguls before coming up with it. The conclusion was that auditions are not easy to crack and a big hassle in terms of travelling to various locations, so we thought what better than having an online process where a person can audition by just using a web cam," Ankur Warikoo, CEO, Groupon India told IANS.

"We invested in creating a platform 'onewayticket.in' which enables people to submit auditions with the help of a few clicks either by their computer or a mobile phone. Eminent judges are on board and they will screen the contestants to select the best 200 who will then go to Mumbai, the other 300 will be decided through public voting," he added.

The entire process costs Rs.499.

Warikoo also says that associating with Shahrukh Khan gels well with the initiative as almost every upcoming actor aspires to be like him.

"I am personally a huge fan of Shah Rukh Khan and Groupon is delighted to be associated with Red Chillies Entertainment. Shah Rukh has a global fan following and Groupon has a global footprint too, there could not have been a better synergy," he said.

This deal can be availed by Shahrukh Khan's fans in other countries too. These include Malaysia, Australia, Singapore, Indonesia, New Zealand and Dubai.

The name Sharib Hashmi may not ring a bell. However, if one jogs the memory hard, he would be remembered as the man who played a small but an important part of Shahrukh Khan's Pakistani roommate in Yash Chopra's Jab Tak Hai Jaan.

Things are expected to change drastically for Sharib who would now be seen in National Award winning Filmistaan, where he plays the main lead and a central protagonist.

"The film is set as a laugh riot about a film buff who wants to become an actor in Bollywood, only to find himself being held hostage by Pakistani terrorists. It is a hilarious affair because in any given circumstance, this man unleashes the Bollywood side of him," informs a source.

The makers wanted an actor who had an appearance of a common man and was a hardcore film buff himself. When Sharib auditioned for the part, they were bowled over and he was roped in.

"Incidentally, the film was ready when Jab Tak Hai Jaan released and had even been through film festivals. During last year and a half, it has traveled globally and fetched quite a few awards for itself, including a National Award," the source adds, "This is when UTV spotted the film and decided to pick it up for release."

If the promo is any indication, Sharib has unleashed the comic side of his in a major way and let his hair down. Though he was overshadowed by Shahrukh's star presence in Jab Tak Hai Jaan', indications are that the actor has pretty much come on his own in Filmistaan which releases alongside Akshay Kumar'sHoliday on 6th June.

Now will Shahrukh too come out in support of the actor and the film? Well, that would make for a pretty sight indeed!

Varun Dhawan, who went all out for the publicity of his latest release "Main Tera Hero", says superstar Shah Rukh Khan is his role model when it comes to film marketing.

"My role model for marketing films is Shah Rukh Khan. He is unbelievable. Look at how he marketed 'Chennai Express', said Varun.

In "Main Tera Hero", Bollywood's other beloved Khan, Salman, has lent his voice. Isn't he a role model for Varun?

"He is a role model for not just me but every young actor. More than anything else he's a tremendous human being. He just called up Dad and said, 'I want to do something for Varun.' Dad gave him the voice of god. We didn't want Salman to help market the film," said the young actor.

"Main Tera Hero" is directed by Varun's father David Dhawan. The latter had a health scare during the film's shoot in Bangkok and Varun says he is not happy with the fact that his father has not been taking care of his health.

"I've actually inherited my energy level from him. But he's not physically fit enough to carry off the energy. I tell him to get fitter. I take him to the gym with me. But not frequently enough.

"To add to his weight woes, he is a foodie. But he has cut down on his food. The only reason I am talking about it is because I'm desperate for him to get fitter. Lots of his friends tell him to change his lifestyle. I feel if he reads what his son is saying, he will take care of his health," he added.

Varun is also close to his brother Rohit. Any plans of working with him?

"I definitely want to work with him. When the time is right, we will. But nothing planned right now," he said.

Abu Dhabi: Bollywood superstar Shah Rukh Khan and actress Deepika Padukone bowled over the guests attending the IPL gala dinner on Tuesday night at the Emirates Palace by busting some moves and laying on their collective charm. The sit-down dinner was a glamorous prelude to the cricket beginning on Wednesday in the capital.

"What a wonderful city Abu Dhabi is. I need to thank them for hosting us and being so warm and gracious," said Khan as a dazzling array of firework went off around him.

"I wish all the players the very best and I can't wait to see them create magic on the field," said Khan. He also thanked Shaikh Nahyan Bin Mubarak Al Nahyan, Minister Of Culture, Youth And Community Development, for his unstinting support.

Accompanying him on his mission to entertain was his Chennai Express co-star Deepika Padukone. While she didn't take the microphone or speak to the guests, she made up for it by dancing like a dream to songs from her blockbustersGoliyon Ki Rasleela Ram Leela and Yeh Jawaani Hai Deewani.

If Khan brought a smile to the guests' face with his numerous antics with IPL players including India captain MS Dhoni, interim BCCI president Sunil Gavaskar was in a more somber mood as he promised to protect the integrity of the game during the tournament, which has recently been marred by reports of match fixing. He appealed to the guests not to tarnish all the players with the same brush.

"We will leave no stone unturned to reclaim the piety in the world of IPL cricket," said Gavaskar.

Farah Khan may not be the best driver in town, but today she's a proud owner of a black, top-class Merc. The SUV was gifted to her by Shah Rukh Khan yesterday.

The Happy New Year director had crashed her old car about a month ago and was using SRK's Volkswagen to commute locally while hers was recuperating in the garage. The actor's generosity didn't stop at loaning her his vehicle.

Yesterday, he surprised her by presenting her with the SUV just when she was contemplating buying a new vehicle. She didn't have the time earlier, as she was shooting almost every day.

Confirming the news Farah said, "Shah Rukh called me at his office and said he wanted to show me something. He usually gifts me things when we wrap up a shoot but Happy New Year is far from over. We'll be shooting till June. So I did not seen this gift coming."

And has she taken a spin in it yet? "Yes, Shah Rukh took me for a drive from his office to Linking Road. That's the best we could manage in the little time we had. It was a lot of fun," she laughed.

In the past, SRK has gifted Farah two cars - one after they completed Main Hoon Na and the other, after they wrapped up Om Shanti Om. Farah had directed both the films.

Looks like Shah Rukh Khan is extending his association with the Indian Premier League (IPL) to his next film. We've been informed that the makers of the Farah Khan-directed film plan to release a teaser of it at a gala dinner organised on April 15 in the UAE.

An industry insider reveals, "The shooting for the film Happy New Year is almost over, except for a few portions which need to be finished. Shah Rukh is producing the film and his team is looking after the marketing and promotional activities for it.

They have some strategies that they are working on, and one of them is releasing a 10- or 15-second teaser at the IPL gala dinner. In fact, SRK, Madhuri Dixit Nene and Deepika Padukone may also be performing at the do."

SRK is the co-owner of a team in the league. The source adds, "A large part of the film is shot at the Atlantis resort in Dubai. The makers plan to release the trailer in June, and the film itself is slated for a Diwali release."

Trust Shahrukh Khan to come up with the most outstanding ideas to market his films. Khan who is considered a marketing whiz when it comes to promoting his films might be using the ultimate platform to launch the first trailer of his upcoming movie, Happy New Year.

The Indian Premiere League (IPL) is known to combine two of India's biggest passions – cricket and Bollywood and Khan who is the co-owner of Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) has chosen to unveil the teaser of his eagerly-awaited film Happy New Year during the first IPL match between Mumbai Indians and KKR on April 16, according to Zoom.

SRK is infamous for using cricket matches as a major platform to promote his films - something that even landed him in trouble in the past.

In 2007, Khan declared that he will not watch cricket matches in the stadium in future, after some BCCI (Board of Control for Cricket in India) officials claimed that the actor was only interested in promoting his film, Om Shanti Om.

However things have changed since then as SRK went on to strengthen his bond with cricket through IPL.

Even during IPL 2013, the actor was seen attending matches along with his Chennai Express co-star Deepika Padukone. The move was again reported to be a promotional gimmick by Khan for his film.

What SRK is doing can simply be termed as a form of 'Product Integration.' After all, it is his company Red Chillies Entertainment that co-owns KKR and produces all his films.

It remains to be seen whether the unveiling of SRK's Happy New Year teaser causes any backlash this time.

Along with Khan, Happy New Year stars Deepika Padukone, Abhishek Bachchan and Boman Irani in key roles. The film is directed by Farah Khan.

Superstar Shah Rukh Khan has asked his fans to go out and vote in large numbers during this Lok Sabha elections if they want to live in a 'happy country'. The Lok Sabha elections this year are being held in nine phases- from April 7 to May 12.

"We want to live in a happy country. After watching things on TV and reading about people, I think they are intelligent enough to make up their mind on who to vote and who not to," the 48-year-old actor said during an event here.

Yesterday Samajwadi Party chief Mulayam Singh Yadav and leader Abu Azmi, who is actress Ayesha Takia's father-in-law, created a furore amongst the public with their comment on rape.

Reacting to their statements, Shah Rukh said, "Our country is going through elections. I think during the
elections a lot of people say a lot of things… Whatever small, little knowledge that I have about these things I can only ask people to go out and vote for people who you would like to see as your leader."

The actor is currently shooting for Farah Khan's 'Happy New Year', and he says the round-the-clock schedule will prohibit him from attending this year's India International Film Awards (IIFA) to be held in Tampa Bay, US.

"I am shooting all seven days a week for 'Happy New Year'. I won't get the time to go to IIFA this year. But I think others from the film may go for the award show," Shah Rukh said.

'Happy New Year' also stars Deepika Padukone, Abhishek Bachchan, Boman Irani and Sonu Sood. The film is expected to hit theatres on October 23 this year.
